Keyboard shortcuts

In the builder

Click a block on your page first. Almost everything here acts on whatever is selected, and the block you have selected is the one with the outline around it.

On a Mac, press Cmd wherever this page says Ctrl.

Working with a block

PressAnd
Delete Removes the selected block. Backspace does the same thing.
Ctrl C Copies the selected block.
Ctrl V Puts the copy just under whatever you have selected. Select something inside a band and it lands inside that band, which is usually where you were looking.
Ctrl X Cuts the block out and holds it, ready to paste somewhere else.
Ctrl D Duplicates the block where it already sits.
Ctrl ↑ or ↓ Moves the block up or down the page.
Esc Lets go of the block, so nothing is selected.

Working on the page

PressAnd
Ctrl Z Undoes the last change.
Ctrl Shift Z Redoes it. Ctrl Y also works.
Ctrl S Saves now, rather than waiting for the builder to save on its own.

While you are typing

None of these fire while your cursor is in a text box. Delete in the middle of writing a heading deletes a letter, not the heading. That is on purpose, and it is the part we test hardest, because getting it wrong would mean losing a block to a typo.

Something missing

If there is a shortcut you keep reaching for and it is not here, tell us at our contact form. This list came from someone doing exactly that.
